(1858 1893 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original triangular ribbon, the obverse bearing a leftward facing profile of Duke Ernst of Saxe Coburg and Gotha, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of DEM VERDIENSTE (TO MERIT) above a crown, unmarked, measuring 23. 52 mm in
