Constructed of gilt bronze with multi coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, obverse presenting as a blue and white enameled cross patte with an elongated lower arm with a central emblem depicting a swastika ringed with an inscription of DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER (The German Mother) with arms connectied by stylized sun rays, reverse bears engraved institution date of 16. Dezember
