A Large Bronze Luftwaffe Fighter Squadron Emblem From Ground Base Gate Archive First Model (1882-1889)Measuring 19. 5 cm diameter, in solid cast bronze, showing usual and pleasing tarnishing from oxidization, very large and heavy, with three bronze post for attachment on reverse, very fine. Footnote: This would have been placed on the iron gate of a Jagdgeschwader hunting wing base. These were typically equipped with the Messerschmitt 109 or Fw 190 to provide close air support to Wehrmacht ground troops.
