Two piece construction, in silver with red and white enamels, the badge in the shape of a Maltese cross, illustrating the Finnish lion on a shield in the centre, marked with the letters "D F B" on the arms at 9, 12 and 3 o'clock respectively, the arm at 6 o'clock inscribed "1939 40", measuring 34. 8 mm (w) x 34. 8 mm (h), maker marked "HOPEATAKOMO O. Y." on the screwback, intact enamels, the lion with traces
