Baden, Duchy. An Order Of The Zähringer Lion In Gold, I Class Knight, C.1880 GTRexclude with a recessed burgundy medal(Orden von Zhringer Lwen Ritterkreuz 1. Klasse). Instituted on 22 January 1809. (1815 1918 Issue). A cross patte constructed of green glass, with Gold arabesques between the arms of the cross, the obverse centre medallion depicts the ruins of the ancestral castle of Zhringer, surrounded by a golden coiled ring, the reverse centre has a red enameled medallion depicting a Gold rampant lion surrounded by a golden coiled ring, unmarked, measuring 38. 29
