Footnote: 968 Private John Meyrick Roberts was the son of Frederick Diprose Roberts and Jane Roberts of Ruahangate, Whangarel, New Zealand. He was a native of Deloraine, Tasmania, Australia. Private Roberts was with the 3rd Battalion, Australian Infantry AIF when he was killed while in action during the Turkish assault on Owens Gully by the 48th Turkish Regiment, on Wednesday, May 19, 1915, at the age of
