Elegant Inuit Black Stone Carved Owl shop brush I had a great old

I had a great old wooden cutout bluebird in the shop a few months ago

All made of wood

It appears that her neck broke at some point but was carefully glued back in place and now seems stable

I've found a few others somewhat like it dating to around the beginning of the 20th century

Elegant Inuit Black Stone Carved Owl shop brush I had a great oldI'm sure this Inuit carving, with its crooked beak, represents an owl, but is a fairly unusual one from what I've found in its minimalism, feeling quite like a modernist sculpture. Very striking I think, with a really strong presence. 4 3 4 t x 5 1 4 long measured on the square; 1 lb 6 oz. Signed (incised) in syllabics with a disc number on the underside. Very good condition, with a few flaws in the stone, which appear native to it.
