simply an excellent thing

I really loved finding this one the other day in Maine--I was first drawn to the striking

The iron is rusty and will flake a bit when handled

it is my guess that this piece is Italian rather than West German

What I know is that he was from New Jersey (b. 1929) but spent a good part of the 1950s in Mexico, after which he briefly attended Cooper Union. He was gay, and estranged from his family, and, it seems increasingly mentally ill, with not much record of him after the 1950s. I think his drawings are wonderful,
