Folk Art Painted Full Plate Tintype of Stern Looking Couple with Bible (in Large Hand!) man with afro almost tissue weightI've been eyeing antique painted tintypes like this one lately which I think have a wonderfully surreal sort of strangeness to them so was very happy to find this one at an estate near me this week. A very nice example too, I think, strange feeling indeed, between his hair and beard and her large hands not feeling quite of her body. With what I take for a bible in her hand, painted red and certainly they look like a devout pair! Nice gold painted
