Captain Frederick Burnaby, officer in the Royal Horse Guards Press Ups dressed for ScotlandCaptain Frederick Burnaby, officer in the Royal Horse Guards, 1877. A traveller and adventurer, Burnaby became famous when he published A Ride to Khiva, an account of his travels in central Asia undertaken in 1875 1876. He was killed in action at the Battle of Abu Klea in the Sudan in 1885.
