Cleistocactus winteri (Hildewintera aureispina) - Golden Rat tail Cactus flowering Easy to prune to controlThis unusual cactus is perfect for a hanging basket. Light: Full Sun. Cacti need bright light to survive. My rule of thumb is always to let them have a view of the sky. The best bet is a sunny windowsill. Watering: These plants are drought tolerant. Only water when the soil completely dries out, as overwatering can quickly kill these plants. Cut way back on watering in winter. Temperature: 5 30C is a good range, but this plant can tolerate down to 2C
